Long ago, when heroes still walked the land, magic was free, for those who were desperate for hope, it gave them the power to turn the worlds balance and topple injustice
But as men's ambition grew, this became undesirable, a plot hatched to seal away magic's guardian and put it under their control
Much time passed, but still, a new prophecy was whispered: that the guardian's soul would eventually break its shackles, and magic will again be free
In the present day, a strange girl starts a school club in hopes of reaching an impossible dream, what she's not aware is that this will entagle her in prophecy, conspiracy, and most of all...interpersonal drama!

This is "Binding Circles" [title pending], a project i've been working for quite some time, and that'll be the case for the near future as well, but im tired of keeping it all under covers, specially when i'm doing so much stuff for it! So, I'll keep stuff that i can publically show here, enjoy!

CHARACTERS

Violet
Violeta Sotomayor Prado (She/Her)
The founder of the club, clandestinely forming it out of an apparent whim, although how much "drawing a couple posters and taking over a unused classroom in the afternoon" counts can be debated.
Aloof & hard to read, she follows her own rhythm, it's difficult to get her true opinions on anything, gets aloof when pressed, deflecting any attempts made to get past her defenses, only Mary can get through her mask
Surprisingly good at internet sleuthing, she finds scoops on strange bookstores, haunted houses and mysterious ruins alike as they come up. Once she finds an enticing adventure to go, she drags the rest of the group along with her, whether they like it or not
Her room is full of spooky stuff she's collected over the years, she has some knowledge of tailoring from maintaining her hoodie, and plays bass in church, practices quite a lot for someone who is constantly claiming to hate it.
On her own, she mutters things to herself, has weird dreams often, its probably nothing
Mary
Mª Trinidad Alvarez del Toro (She/Her)
Violet's best friend, although the way they bicker wld tell you otherwise
She's the brains of the group, doing both accounting & accountability, not big on the whole occult business, but doesn't really like leaving V to her own devices
Pensive & determined, she lets her actions speak more than her words, holding a strong sense of personal justice, although she often ends up taking too much responsibility in the process.
A valedictorian of her class, somehow she still finds the time to follow her interests diligently, like drumming, astronomy, and most of all, baseball! her favorite player is Terrence Gore.
Best with numbers, but dont ask her to explain it unless you want to hear about snakes and bronze vessels and bags of cats
Her room is uncharacteristically messy, but she only really uses it to sleep
Paula
Paula Jacques Larraín (She/Her)
Paula is the only one who joined the club of her own volition, somehow thinking it was focused on stage magic
Unfalteringly nice, if a bit naive, she sees the best in the things that happens to her, sometimes to her detriment, has a theater kid's temperament, taking things in a way that makes one wonder if she's actually being serious or just pretending to be
Being the one most interested in magic, she's usually the only one to follow the long tangents Sol goes in, and responds in turn, with the conversation becoming something that can only be described as "Abbott & Costello but they are theorical physicists"
She often brings weird homemade snacks made by her parents to the meetings, still they're delicious!
Her bunny is named Houdinni! it's clever and knows lots of tricks, and only Paula can catch it when it scampers off! Isn't he the cutest??
Sol
Soledad Licancura (They/Them)
Sol is a culpeo fox nature spirit, they met the rest of the group in a chance encounter during one of the excursions, and afterwards they ended tagging along
They're the one to show the group how "real" magic works, yet the kind they practice is fiddly, mathy and engineered, is this really how all of it is?
Initially shy and mischievous, to her friends they show another side, showing great motivation and dedication bordering on perfectionism, but due to these qualities, theyre neither great teacher nor caster, instead focusing on creating artifacts and tchotchkes that can be manufactured once and used repeatedly
when left to their own devices, they end up overworking themselves often on a certain project, but they're very reticent to show what it is!
Stays at the other's houses often, they just wander around otherwise?
They have a big fluffy tail!
